Summary
- Your photo is processed by a model running in your browser. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else, and we never see it.
- We do not collect, store, sell, or share face scans, face geometry, or other biometric identifiers or biometric information.
- Numeric measurements may be kept in your own browser’s local storage so you can open the full report later. You can delete them with the Clear photo and data button or by clearing site data.
Photos and face measurements
When you choose a photo, it is drawn onto a canvas in the page. The face-landmark model (Google MediaPipe Face Landmarker) and, on the age page, an open-source age-estimation model (face-api) are downloaded from this website and run inside your browser. They produce landmark points and numbers such as ratios, angles and an apparent-age estimate. These calculations happen on your device. The photo, the landmark points and the measurements are not transmitted to our servers.
Facial geometry can be considered biometric data under laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14). Because the scan runs locally and we never receive it, we do not collect, capture, purchase, receive, store, disclose or profit from your biometric identifiers or biometric information. If we ever change this, we will ask for your written consent first and publish a retention schedule here.
What is stored in your browser
After a scan, the page saves the numeric measurements (not the photo or landmark coordinates) in your browser’s local storage under the key faceReadout.measurements.v1, so the paid report can be built on the same device. They stay until you press Clear photo and data, run a new scan, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. We cannot read them.
Payments
The optional full report is paid through Stripe Checkout, a page hosted by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and email address to process the payment and send a receipt, under the Stripe Privacy Policy. We receive the payment status, amount and the email address you give Stripe, and use them only to confirm access, handle refunds and meet tax and accounting obligations. We do not receive full card numbers. Before checkout you confirm that you are 18 or older, or that a parent or guardian has agreed.
Website delivery
Cloudflare hosts this website and processes request information such as IP address, browser type, page requested and time, for delivery, security and operational logs. See the Cloudflare privacy policy. We do not run a separate analytics service on this site.
Advertising
Guide pages (under /guides/) may show Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and request information to deliver and measure ads; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services and My Ad Center. Tool pages, the report and these policy pages do not load advertising code, and no photo or measurement is ever passed to an ad request.
Children
FaceReadout is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Purchases require being 18 or older or the agreement of a parent or guardian.
Your choices and contact
Questions, access or deletion requests about payment records: archie@archie-design.app. Because we never receive photos or measurements, there is nothing about your face for us to delete; clearing your browser data removes the measurements kept on your device.
